What Is PCR Packaging
PCR stands for post-consumer recycled. It describes material that has completed its intended lifecycle: used by a consumer, collected through a recycling program, and reprocessed into new feedstock. In folding cartons, that material is recovered fiber — from old corrugated containers, newspapers, and used paper products returned to a mill, not from plastic.

The Cons and Drawbacks of PCR Packaging

- Verification and greenwashing exposure: the FTC Green Guides require a stated, substantiated percentage, and post-consumer content must never be conflated with post-industrial scrap.
